3. Service Description

v-Lawyer provides an AI-powered platform that offers:

3.1 Core Features

• Legal Issue Triage: AI-guided questionnaire to assess your legal situation
• Action Plans: Step-by-step guidance for resolving consumer legal issues
• Document Generation: Automated creation of complaint letters, legal notices, and forms
• Evidence Management: Organize and store documents, photos, videos, and other evidence
• Legal Case Search: Access to 10,000+ legal case precedents with AI-powered semantic search
• AI Consultation: Conversational AI assistant for legal questions and guidance

3.2 Supported Legal Issues

The Service focuses on six consumer legal problem categories in the United States:

• Billing disputes and unauthorized charges
• Defective products and warranty issues
• Scams and fraud
• Debt collection harassment
• Credit report errors
• Returns and refund disputes

3.3 Service Limitations

The Service does NOT:

• Provide legal advice or legal representation
• Create an attorney-client relationship
• Replace consultation with a licensed attorney
• Guarantee outcomes in legal matters
• Handle criminal law, immigration law, or complex litigation
• Provide jurisdiction-specific advice outside the United States

4. Account Registration and Security

4.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account using one of the following OAuth providers:

• Apple Sign-In
• Google
• LinkedIn
• GitHub
• Microsoft

4.2 Account Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Not share your account with others
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits

4.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Non-payment of subscription fees
• Extended periods of inactivity
• Any reason at our sole discretion

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Privacy → Delete My Account. Upon deletion, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion (see our Privacy Policy).

5. Subscription and Payment Terms

5.1 Subscription Tiers

The Service offers three subscription tiers:

5.2 Free Trial

• Duration: 7 days for Pro and Max tiers
• Credit card required: You will NOT be charged until the trial ends
• Auto-renewal: Unless canceled before trial end, subscription auto-renews at the regular price
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime during the trial to avoid charges
• Eligibility: One free trial per user (multiple accounts not permitted)

5.3 Billing and Renewal

• Billing Cycle: Monthly or annual (selected at purchase)
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period
• Payment Method: Credit/debit card via Stripe (web) or in-app purchase (iOS)
• Price Changes: We will notify you 30 days before any price increases
• Failed Payments: Your account may be downgraded or suspended for non-payment

5.4 Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancellation: Cancel anytime through Settings → Subscription → Cancel Plan
• Effective Date: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Access: You retain access to paid features until the end of the billing period
• Refund Policy: 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions (first billing period only)
• Refund Method: Refunds issued to original payment method within 5-10 business days
• No Refunds: No partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period (except as required by law)

5.5 Usage Limits

Each subscription tier has monthly usage limits. When you reach a limit:

• You will receive notifications at 80%, 90%, and 100% usage
• You can upgrade to a higher tier to continue using the feature
• Limits reset at the start of each billing period
• Exceeding limits may result in temporary feature restrictions

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Service for any of the following:

6.1 Illegal Activities

• Any illegal purpose or in violation of local, state, national, or international law
• Fraud, deception, or misrepresentation
• Harassment, abuse, or threats against others
• Infringement of intellectual property rights

6.2 System Abuse

• Attempting to bypass security measures or usage limits
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service
• Uploading viruses, malware, or malicious code
• Interfering with or disrupting the Service or servers
• Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits
• Scraping, data mining, or automated data collection

6.3 Misuse of AI Features

• Submitting false, misleading, or fabricated information
• Attempting to manipulate AI outputs for fraudulent purposes
• Using the Service to generate content that violates laws or rights
• Sharing AI-generated documents as legal advice from a licensed attorney

6.4 Commercial Misuse

• Reselling or redistributing the Service or its outputs
• Using the Service on behalf of third parties without authorization
• Building competing products or services using our AI or data

8. No Legal Advice - Attorney Disclaimer

8.1 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o-mini) to generate responses, action plans, and documents. AI-generated content:

• May contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
• Should be reviewed and verified before use
• Is not a substitute for professional legal review
• May not account for recent changes in law or your specific circumstances

9. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
• Warranties regarding outcomes or results from using the Service

9.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, v-LAWYER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, Incidental, or Consequential Damages: Including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from use of the Service
• Legal Outcomes: Any outcomes, decisions, or consequences resulting from actions taken based on information or documents from the Service
• Third-Party Content: Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in legal case precedents or third-party data
• Data Loss: Loss or corruption of your data, even if we've been advised of the possibility
• Security Breaches: Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data (we implement reasonable security but cannot guarantee 100% security)

9.3 Maximum Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. FOR FREE TIER USERS, OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS $100 USD.

9.4 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
